Indianapolis, July 17, 2025 – With an unwavering commitment and a transformational vision, JeanMarie Mattingly has elevated the Tri Sigma Foundation and advanced the broader fraternal philanthropic movement. A tireless and compassionate volunteer, she is a visionary force who embodies what it means to serve, lead and give.

It is for her inclusive and strategic leadership that JeanMarie has been recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Volunteer. Her award will be presented on Tuesday, Aug. 26, during the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence Awards of Distinction Program, part of FFE Seminar

“Her belief in the mission, paired with her willingness to lead from the front, has created a ripple effect that strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful programming, scholarships and member support,” said nominator and Tri Sigma Foundation Executive Director Shelly Bateman. “She meets regularly with donors, initiates personal outreach, and plays a hands-on role in every phase of campaign planning and execution.”

JeanMarie has volunteered for Tri Sigma for over three decades. Her leadership journey includes service on the Foundation Board from 2011 to 2017 and again from 2019 to present, holding the roles of Treasurer, Secretary, and, most recently, Chair. Over the past several years, JeanMarie has been the driving force behind some of the Foundation’s most ambitious and successful fundraising efforts, including spearheading their first-ever comprehensive campaign: “They Did. You Can. We Will.” The campaign for Tri Sigma’s future.

From commissioning a feasibility study to crafting a five-year roadmap that aligned with both the Foundation’s goals and the evolving needs of their members, she led the strategic planning process that brought the campaign to life. Not only leading from a strategic lens, JeanMarie anchored the campaign with a million-dollar comprehensive campaign pledge.

In addition to her support of Tri Sigma, she has been a strong advocate for increased support of the Amplifying Sorority Campaign — an industry-wide, sorority-focused research initiative — successfully persuading both Tri Sigma and the Tri Sigma Foundation Board of Directors to triple their original gift, resulting in a $30,000 commitment. She also made a personal gift of $10,000 to the Piazza Center for Fraternity and Sorority Research and Reform, further demonstrating her dedication to advancing and safeguarding the future of the fraternal experience. These acts not only reflect JeanMarie’s sincere generosity, but also her belief in the power of sorority membership and a remarkable ability to move others to action.

The Foundation for Fraternal Excellence is pleased to present JeanMarie with the 2025 Outstanding Volunteer Award and looks forward to celebrating her philanthropic impact and lifelong commitment to Tri Sigma this summer.
