Meet the Facilitator: Emily Thornton
Assistant Athletics Director, Donor Relations at Stanford University

Emily Thornton is the Assistant Athletics Director, Donor Relations at Stanford University. She has worked as a front-line major and planned giving officer, as a development coordinator in some of the smallest shops imaginable, and as a volunteer with several local nonprofits. Experienced with all facets of the fundraising process, Emily Thornton has experience in multiple record-setting capital campaigns in higher education with the successful close of the $3.9 Billion For All: The Indiana University Bicentennial Campaign and Butler Beyond: The Campaign for Butler University, raising $263 Million. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Philip, and her son, Campbell. Emily remains involved with Phi Mu Fraternity, serving as National Alumnae Coordinator, a loyal Phi Mu Foundation donor, facilitating trainings for collegiate officers and alumnae, and serving on many committees.
