Is your Foundation struggling to find a way to connect with Next Gen alums and engage them in a meaningful way? Is your fundraising approach building a sustainable model to ensure growth for the next 30 years? If these are the kinds of questions you are looking to dive deeper into, then this is the presentation for you! Presenters will share current sector data, practical insights, and real-world case examples showing how peer organizations are expanding their donor bases while still supporting their major gifts efforts. Attendees will explore how intentional outreach, focused annual fund strategies, and direct mail efforts can improve donor acquisition, retention, and predictable giving. Participants will leave with realistic, actionable ideas to assess their current fundraising mix and identify one or two meaningful shifts they can implement right away—helping position their Foundation to create a strong pipeline of both "low dollar” donors and future “whales” to make your Foundation a charity of choice for your alumni! Empathy Meets Efficiency: AI in Modern Advancement presented by Sean FitzGerald, Delta Upsilon Educational Foundation and Brian Gawor, 3M Fraternity and Sorority advancement teams are under pressure to communicate more personally, travel more strategically, and steward donors more consistently, often with fewer resources. This session explores practical, real world applications of AI that fundraisers can use today to enhance donor engagement without losing the human touch that makes philanthropy work. Participants will learn how AI chatbots can refine and standardize contact reports, strengthen solicitation and stewardship messaging, and help fundraisers articulate donor centered narratives with greater clarity and consistency. We’ll also examine how generative AI can support prospect research, from surfacing high potential prospects in specific regions to optimizing travel by identifying who to meet. A focus will be placed on how to train the seemingly countless chatbot options out there into advancement tools. Real examples such as an enrollment chatbot trained on empathy to assist young people at pivotal points in their life, or an inquisitive chatbot that can help round out your contact reports to provide consistent and strong accounting of the progress you are making with donors. Stronger Together: Collaborative Technology Utilization and Project Management presented by Ande White, Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation and Chris Smith, Alpha Tau Omega Foundations see transactions. Membership Organizations see behavior. You need both. Gone are the days of fraternity/sorority and foundation silos – say hello to the new age of integrated data, shared visions, and collaborative roadmaps. We’ve seen what success looks like when fraternities and foundations work in tandem toward their technology goals and we’re not turning back! Join Ande White (PIKE Technology Officer) and Chris Smith (ATO Director of Systems) as they guide you through how to advocate for cross-training, maintain a solutions portfolio for your organization and review it for redundancies, create guidelines and set expectations for successful project management, and produce a shared development roadmap that helps each team achieve operational excellence as individuals and as a whole. Attendees will learn how to remove the barriers blocking collaborative development and growth, harness the power of synergy within their organization, and become equipped with the skills needed for a successful future in systems and roadmap management. This session will prove how a shared ecosystem of data and ideas creates a cohesive environment for fraternity/sorority and foundation technological growth. Parents as Partners: Data-Driven Strategies for Engagement & Solicitation presented by Jennifer Magro Algarotti, Delta Gamma Foundation; Sarah Cone, Alpha Delta Pi Foundation; Melissa Hammer, Kappa Delta Foundation; and Jessi Horne, Phi Mu Foundation Research shows parents and guardians already value the sorority experience and are open to supporting it, yet they represent one of the most underleveraged audiences in fraternal foundation engagement and fundraising. The challenge is not willingness, but clarity: families often lack direct, meaningful communication about how foundations impact their students’ experiences. Building on insights from the Parental Influence on Sorority Participation foundation roundtable discussion, this session will explore real-world examples and practical tips for successfully engaging and soliciting parents (and where we’re falling short!). Whether you’re launching your first parent initiative or refining existing efforts, this session will provide actionable ideas and fresh perspective — helping you turn parents into engaged advocates and donor prospects. The Loyalty Formula: Proven Strategies for Turning First-Time Givers into Lifetime Supporters presented by Elizabeth Fields, Jackson Fields Consulting and Jen Webb, Alpha Delta Pi Foundation Donor acquisition is expensive. Donor retention is priceless. Yet most fraternal foundations invest heavily in attracting new donors while losing existing ones. This interactive session reveals proven strategies for transforming one-time givers into lifelong supporters. Beyond the Chapter House: Preparing Your Foundation for America's GDPR-Like Privacy Landscape presented by John Christopher and Amy Hebbeler, Fraternal Law Partners This session addresses the evolving data privacy compliance challenges facing fraternity and sorority charitable foundations in the United States. While there is no federal GDPR equivalent, a rapidly expanding patchwork of state privacy laws (now covering 20+ states as of 2026) creates GDPR-like obligations that foundations must navigate—particularly regarding consent, donor relationships, and the complex distinction between alumni chapter members and foundation donors. Planned Giving: Where Do We Start? presented by John Berghoff, The Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi and David Carico, Columns Fundraising How can Foundations with limited staff resources ensure that they participate fully in the coming generational transfer of wealth? Planned Giving need not be scary or complex. We'll teach you how to start a new program - or enhance an existing one - with minimal cost but maximum impact. |
