Men's College Scholarship
Men are choosing paths other than college. To counter this trend, a diverse group of fraternity alumni founded the Men’s College Scholarship which will award $50,000 in scholarships — increments of $500-$1,000 — this year to inspire college attendance and academic success by young men.
About the Scholarship
The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating high school senior who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a graduating high school senior in the United States
- Must identify as male
- Must have access to a U.S. bank account (for direct fund deposit if selected)
Did you know? Under federal law, all males ages 18-25 years old are required to be registered with the Selective Service System (SSS). Registration was recently removed from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application, however, young men can apply online here. By registering for Selective Service, a young man remains eligible for jobs, state-based student aid in 31 states, Federally-funded job training and U.S. citizenship for immigrant men.
2024 Scholarship Timeline
- January 17, 2024: Scholarship application open
- April 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET: Scholarship application closes
- April–June 2024: Scholarship Review Committee identifies recipients
- Mid-June 2024: Scholarship recipients notified
- July–August 2024: Scholarship funds distributed
